Parameters
- Email To address_or_field: The recipient. If a literal address (e.g.,
esullivan@hisisp.com), a single report is sent. If a database field name (e.g.,email), a separate e-mail is sent to each selected entrant. - Email CC To address: Sends a carbon copy to this address.
- Email BCC To address: Sends a blind carbon copy to this address.
- Email From address: Your sender address.
- Email Subject text: The subject line of the e-mail.
- Email Server sendgrid: Must be
sendgrid. Any other server name shows a deprecation dialog and sends nothing. - Email APIKey api_key: The SendGrid API key (required for sending).
- Email Attachment [filename]: Without an argument, sends the listing output as an attachment named
rstmp$$$.txt. With a filename, attaches that file while also including the listing in the e-mail body. Use~prefix for files in the race directory. - Email Port / Email Userid / Email Password: Deprecated. Used only by the removed generic SMTP path; they have no effect when
Email Serverissendgrid.
Description
Sends e-mail from RunScore via SendGrid. You can send a race report to a single recipient or individual results to each entrant who has an e-mail address in the database.
Remarks
- Sending is SendGrid-only. Generic ISP SMTP, SendinBlue, and other non-
sendgridservers are deprecated: RunScore shows "Sending email via RunScore SMTP is deprecated. Please use SendGrid or another SMTP server." and does not send. - RunScore determines whether to send a single report or individual e-mails based on the
Email Tovalue. A literal address sends one report; a field name sends one e-mail per selected record. - E-mail sending runs in a background thread, so you can continue using RunScore while e-mails are sent. Each recipient's address appears in the status line at the bottom of the screen.
- E-mail can only be sent from RSServer, not from RSClient.
- Only text file attachments are supported. You cannot attach Excel, Word, or other binary files.
Set Page Length to a small number when sending individual e-mails. If you do not, blank lines are inserted that appear at the top of each e-mail.
SendGrid integration
Race Roster provides free SendGrid access for RunScore users. To use SendGrid:
- Obtain a subuser account from support@runscore.com.
- Log in to SendGrid and enable Two-Factor authentication.
- Create a Sender Identity and verify your e-mail address.
- Generate an API key through the Web API integration.
- Use
Email Server sendgridandEmail APIKey.
E-mails sent through SendGrid may appear with "via sendgrid.net" appended, which can cause spam filtering. Verify your domain with SendGrid to avoid this.
Instant E-mail
You can also send e-mail to an individual from the Enter/Edit Names screen. See Instant Print.
