Case

Syntax

Case case_type

Parameters

  • case_type: The desired case for the output. Allowed values are:
    • Upper: Converts all text to UPPER CASE.
    • Lower: Converts all text to lower case.
    • Proper: Converts text to Proper Case (e.g., "mclean" becomes "Mclean", "O'BRIEN" becomes "O'Brien", "RR" remains "RR").

Description

Changes the case of the output for the database field specified immediately before it.

Remarks

This command must follow a Field command. The "Proper" case option has built-in logic to correctly capitalize names with prefixes like "Mc," "Mac," and "O'," as well as common abbreviations in addresses like "NE," "NW," "SE," "SW," and "RR.".
