Merge Events

Syntax

Merge Events
Event event_to_merge_1
Event event_to_merge_2
...
Event destination_event

Parameters

  • event_to_merge_...: Name of an event whose results will be combined into the destination event.
  • destination_event: The name of the event that will receive the merged results. Its existing contents will be destroyed.
  • source_event: The event from which results are taken when using Minus or Plus.
  • event_to_subtract / time_constant: Event name or fixed time to subtract.
  • event_to_add / time_constant: Event name or fixed time to add.

Description

Combines results from multiple source events into a single destination event, or moves results from one event to another, potentially performing a subtraction or addition operation. Automatically sorts the destination event by time after merging.

Remarks

warning

Merge Events clears the destination event before it writes the merged times.

  • Before merging, check the times and places in each source event. Each source event needs the same number of times and places; unmatched ones aren't carried over.
  • RunScore warns when a bib appears in more than one source event. To log these warnings to MergeProb.txt instead of showing pop-ups, turn the option on in Tools/Preferences.
  • Plus and Minus add or subtract another event or a fixed time, for example to calculate net times or add penalties.
  • Round First rounds both times before a Plus or Minus calculation.
  • Minimum Difference gives finishers within a set gap of their group's first finisher the same time.
  • If the destination is a lap event, RunScore skips duplicate checking and ignores Minimum Difference.
  • Not compatible with Combine Events.

To calculate net swim time (SWIMNET) by subtracting SCRATCH from SWIM:

Merge Events
Event SWIM
Minus SCRATCH
Event SWIMNET

To subtract a fixed 30 minutes from SWIM times and put results in SWIM2:

Merge Events
Event SWIM
Minus 0:30:00
Event SWIM2
