Prompt / .Prompt

Syntax

Prompt
.Prompt ?prompt_message (Used within Header/Footer)

Parameters

  • prompt_message: The text to display to the user when prompting for input.

Description

Pauses listing execution and prompts the user for input or confirmation.

Remarks

When used as Prompt anywhere in the main body of a listing file, it pauses execution until the user clicks OK, typically used as a reminder (e.g., check printer). When used as .Prompt within a Header or Footer block, it prompts the user to enter text (e.g., weather conditions), which is then inserted into the header/footer at that location. The prompt message for .Prompt must start with a question mark (?).
