Results Fields

This page covers how to select which database fields appear in a report, which event's times to use, and how to filter participants with the Select command.

Choosing fields

Use the Field command to specify which database columns appear in the output, one per line:

Field BIB
Field FIRST NAME
FIELD LAST NAME
Field AGE
Field GENDER

Specifying the event

Use the Event command to tell RunScore which timing event to report on. RunScore calculates each participant's race duration by subtracting start from finish:

Event Finish
minus ChipStart
Time Format MM:SS.1

Selecting participants

To target a specific group, use the Select command followed by a comparison operator and value. The following example selects participants aged 40 or older:

SELECT AGE
GE 40

Comparison operators

OperatorMeaning
< or LTLess than
<= or LELess than or equal to
= or EQEqual to
>= or GEGreater than or equal to
> or GTGreater than
<> or NENot equal to
SWStarts with these characters

Combining selections with AND / OR

RunScore supports multiple Select blocks chained with AND and OR. AND requires both conditions to be true; OR requires only one.

Order matters with AND / OR

Always place your OR operators before your AND operators in a listing file.

The following example selects all male participants aged 40–49:

SELECT AGE
>= 40
AND
SELECT AGE
< 50
AND
SELECT GENDER
= M
