Edit Alt-Keys
Opens the KEYS file — a plain text file in the race folder — in RunScore's built-in text editor. There's no structured dialog; you edit the raw file directly, then save and close it like any other text file.
An Alt-key is a one-keystroke shortcut that fills in a common value while entering data — for example, holding Alt and pressing B in the CITY field could fill in "Birmingham", with the state and ZIP prefix following in the linked fields.
Open it from Tools → Enter/Edit Names → Edit Alt-Keys. To use an Alt-key while entering data, see Participant Data → Alt-Keys.
The KEYS file
Definitions are stored in a file called KEYS, grouped by field name:
CITY
B: Birmingham AL 352
A: Allentown PA 187
TEAM
B: BRCC
D: Demons
A blank line between blocks — like the one above, separating CITY and TEAM — is skipped when RunScore reads the file. It doesn't end parsing and doesn't merge the two blocks together.
A block with no field-name header applies to every field — RunScore's own sample race (race-templates/5K/KEYS) uses this form, mapping single letters directly to city names with no header at all.
